Ways to work together

Different problems need different versions of me.

Sometimes you need another brain in the room. Sometimes you need a defined problem solved. Sometimes the work needs someone to own it alongside you.

The structure changes. The standard does not: listen carefully, make the real choice, and stay close enough to see whether it works.

THREE STARTING STRUCTURES
A USEFUL STARTING POINT

Because “it depends” is not a useful answer.

Every engagement is shaped around what needs to move and how much of it I need to own.

But to give you an idea, strategic sparring is CAD $1,500 per month, embedded partnerships start at CAD $3,500 per month, and focused projects are priced around the scope.

Broader mandates, more functions and more time inside the business mean a larger investment. Most ongoing work begins with a three-month commitment because it takes context to do this properly.

You do not need to choose before getting in touch. Start with what is happening.

WHAT CHANGES WITH THE PRICE

A smaller investment means a tighter mandate, not a less committed version of me.

At the embedded starting point, I take ownership of one important priority.

That might be finding the next growth focus, building an operating rhythm, reducing a founder bottleneck, leading one launch or putting ownership and measures around a cross-functional initiative.

It does not mean running the entire company, managing several functions or being available every day. If the mandate expands, the engagement changes with it.

PRACTICAL QUESTIONS

Before we start.

Do we need to know which engagement we want?

No. Start with what is happening. I will help determine whether the situation needs another brain, a defined project, embedded ownership, or something I do not offer.

Can a project become an embedded partnership?

Yes. A focused project can uncover a need for hands-on implementation. An embedded engagement can also narrow into advisory once the team is able to carry the work.

Do you charge by the hour?

No. Projects are priced around a defined scope. Ongoing work is priced around the mandate, level of involvement and capacity reserved for the company.

How long does ongoing work last?

Most ongoing engagements begin with a three-month commitment. The aim is not permanent dependency. We agree on what needs to be true for the work to narrow, transfer or end.

You do not need to select an engagement.
